Miguel Cabrera added two hits and drove in three runs for the Marlins, who ended a three-game slide and spoiled Scott Erickson's return to the majors. Erickson started for the Mets, appearing in his first game since August 31, 2002 when he was with the Baltimore Orioles. He had missed nearly two years of action because of a major arm injury and then was sidelined most of this season with a hamstring injury that forced him to Triple-A. Hampton (5-8) yielded two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts. His last two wins have come against the Phillies.
