Calgary, AB (My Sportsbook) - Jarome Iginla tallied twice and Eric Nystrom notched the game-winner late in the third period as Calgary wasted a three- goal lead but recovered to post a 6-4 victory over Chicago in Game 4 of their Western Conference quarterfinal from Pengrowth Saddledome, evening the series at two games apiece.
Nystrom added two helpers and Olli Jokinen posted his first two career postseason goals with an assist for the Flames, who took a pair of games at home after dropping two straight on the road to begin the round.
Miikka Kiprusoff got the win despite allowing four goals on 32 shots.
Kris Versteeg posted a goal and two assists for the Blackhawks, who have not been tied by an opponent after winning the first two games of any playoff series since the 1971 Stanley Cup Finals -- a seven-game loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
Samuel Pahlsson and Cam Barker added a goal and one helper each, but Nikolai Khabibulin surrendered five goals on only 26 shots in the loss.
"It just gives us the confidence to know we can come back when the game looks out of hand," Chicago forward Jonathan Toews said.
The series shifts back to Chicago and United Center for Game 5 on Saturday.
With the Blackhawks having erased a 4-1 deficit by the end of the second period, and controlling stretches of the final 20 minutes, Nystrom came to the rescue.
The son of four-time Stanley Cup winning New York Islander Bob Nystrom picked up the go-ahead goal with 6:56 remaining, sliding the puck home from the top of the crease after Khabibulin stopped Cory Sarich's left-point shot.
Iginla followed by icing the game by hitting the empty net with 11 seconds to go.
Patrick Kane accepted a backhand feed from Patrick Sharp and buried the chance from the low slot for a 1-0 Hawks lead 4:40 into the contest.
A little more than a minute later, and with the Flames on the power play, Iginla potted the rebound of Mike Cammalleri's initial shot for a 1-1 tie.
Calgary took a 2-1 lead less than a minute into the second, thanks to a lucky bounce. Barker attempted a cross-ice pass to his defensive partner, but the puck rolled right to Jokinen for an easy score.
Adrian Aucoin put the Flames ahead by two at 8:10, when his floating wrister from the right point changed direction and hit the net high inside the right post.
Jokinen picked up his second of the game 66 seconds later, taking a Dion Phaneuf pass in full stride on the right wing and sliding a backhander off the top of Khabibulin's pad.
Versteeg brought Chicago back within a pair on the power play at 12:13, tapping the puck home from the left side after Brian Campbell's initial shot was kicked aside by Kiprusoff.
"They were very efficient on the power play and we need to crack down on that in the next game," Iginla said.
Barker made it 4-3 with 3:16 left in the second, when he redirected a centering pass by Pahlsson several inches off the ice and through Kiprusoff's pads.
The Hawks came all the way back to tie inside the final minute, as Dustin Byfuglien appeared to tip Pahlsson's point shot into the net, but the Swede was eventually credited with the score.
