San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres have re-acquired infielder Chris Burke from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for cash considerations. Burke signed a minor league deal with the Padres in January and spent spring training with San Diego before being traded to Seattle on March 29 for cash considerations. He hit .281 with three runs batted in during the spring for the Padres. The Mariners sent Burke to their Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma to start the season and he was hitting .237 with a homer, three runs batted in and seven runs scored in 10 games. Burke was originally selected by the Houston Astros with the 10th overall pick of the 2001 draft. He is a career .241 hitter at the big league level with 22 homers and 106 RBI in parts of five seasons with the Astros (2004-07) and Arizona Diamondbacks (2008).
