Lafayette, LA (My Sportsbook) - Samantha Richdale fired a six-under 66 on Sunday to earn the victory at the Duramed Futures Tour's Louisiana Pelican Classic. She finished at eight-under 136 for her second win on tour. She captured last year's Gettysburg Championship and posted two top-12s in her two previous starts in 2009. The event was shortened to 36 holes on Sunday. Play was called on Saturday due to inclement weather, but the intention was to finish the second round and play a third round. Overnight rain left The Wetlands Golf Course unplayable on Sunday morning, so the decision was made to shorten the tournament to two rounds. Christine Song shot a two-under 70 in the final round and took second at minus-five. Haeji Kang (71) and Danah Ford (68) shared third at four-under 140, followed by Lisa Ferrero (71), Angela Buzminski (69), Jean Reynolds (69) and Lori Atsedes (77). That group came in at minus-three. First-round leader Liz Janangelo, who opened with a 65, struggled to a five- over 77 on Sunday and tied for ninth place at two-under 142.
