Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that head coach Lindy Ruff and general manager Darcy Regier will return next season in their current roles. Ruff guided the Sabres to a 41-32-9 record this past season, as the club finished in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Ruff has been the Sabres' head coach for the past 11 seasons and is the winningest coach in franchise history with a regular-season record of 438-334-52 with 78 ties. He guided Buffalo to the Stanley Cup Finals in just his second season of 1998-99, losing to the Dallas Stars in six games. He is the longest tenured coach in the league. Regier, meanwhile, has been the GM since the 1997-98 campaign and has built a team that has reached the Eastern Conference finals four times.
