Spokane, WA (My Sportsbook) - Gonzaga forward Austin Daye will enter the NBA Draft, but will keep alive his collegiate eligibility by not hiring an agent.

Daye, who averaged 12.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game as a sophomore this season, made the announcement Wednesday. The forward helped the Bulldogs (28-6) to a top-10 ranking in the Associated Press and pushed the club into the Sweet Sixteen, where it fell to eventual national champion North Carolina.

"Basically I want to test the waters to see what my future might entail," stated Daye. "I definitely had to sit down and talk to my family about my decision. If a great opportunity presents itself I might have to lead that path. A lot depends on these workouts."

Gonzaga head coach Mark Few wished Daye well in this decision.

"Obviously, we'd like to see Austin in a Gonzaga uniform next year. He's a great individual and someone we enjoy having in our program. I don't begrudge anybody taking a look at their future," said Few. "I'm confident when the time comes Austin will make an informed, educated decision about what is best for his immediate basketball future."
