New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Florida Marlins pitcher Josh Johnson, who has won both of his starts his season, has been honored as the National League Player of the Week for the period ending April 12. Johnson recorded an earned run average of 0.57 in his two starts, giving up just one earned run in 15 2/3 innings in victories over Washington and the New York Mets. On April 7, Johnson threw 6 2/3 scoreless frames against the Nationals, and this past Sunday he took a shutout into the ninth inning as the Marlins upended the Mets, 2-1. He totaled 15 strikeouts in the two games. Other nominees this past week included Florida teammates Emilio Bonifacio, Jorge Cantu and Hanley Ramirez; Ryan Church, Johan Santana and Carlos Delgado of the New York Mets; and Philadelphia's Pedro Feliz, Chase Utley and Jayson Werth.
