(My Sportsbook) - Dan Haren hopes for some run support this afternoon when the
Arizona Diamondbacks play the rubber match of their three-game series against the
Los Angeles Dodgers at Chase Field.
Haren, who won 16 games for the D-Backs last year, was charged with the loss on Tuesday against Colorado, despite a terrific effort. Haren surrendered just a run and three hits in seven innings, while striking out nine without walking a batter in his team's 3-0 loss.
The 28-year-old right-hander is 3-3 lifetime against the Dodgers with a 4.72 ERA in seven games (six starts).
Los Angeles will counter with left-handed veteran Randy Wolf, who absorbed the loss in his first start on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Wolf, who pitched for the Padres last season, allowed four runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Wolf has faced the D-Backs 12 times in his career and is 6-3 with a 4.62 ERA.
On Saturday, Orlando Hudson backed Eric Stults' spot-start with a home run and three runs batted in, helping the Dodgers to an 11-2 win.
Stults (1-0), filling in for injured Opening Day starter Hiroki Kuroda (left oblique), scattered four hits, two walks and a run while fanning five in 5 1/3 frames for the Dodgers, who evened their record at 3-3.
Russell Martin and Andre Ethier each drove in two runs for Los Angeles.
Yusmeiro Petit was a replacement for Arizona's ace, Brandon Webb, who was scratched because of stiffness in his shoulder. Petit (0-1) was saddled with the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits and a pair of walks in a five-inning start for the D'Backs, who beat LA, 9-4, in the opener of the three-game set on Friday.
Stephen Drew and Augie Ojeda each had an RBI in defeat.
The Dodgers were 10-8 against the Padres last season.
