Enschede, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Romano Denneboom, Douglas Franco and Slobodan Rajkovic scored in the first half to spark Twente to a 4-2 win over Roda at Arke Stadion on Saturday in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Twente extended its unbeaten streak to 18 straight - its last loss was on Nov. 9 to first-place AZ - and moved four points ahead of idle Ajax to secure its grip on second place.
Roda, which has just two wins in its last nine matches, remains just one point off the bottom of the table.
Denneboom opened the scoring in the 17th minute, only to see the goal equalized in the 25th by Roda's Laurent Delorge.
Franco put Twente back in front in the 35th, though, and Rajkovic put his side in control when he scored two minutes before half. Eljero Elia added Twente's fourth goal in the 74th.
Sekou Cisse pulled one goal back in the 78th for Roda, but it was too little, too late.
Twente holds the last Champions League spot in the Netherlands, but all of the European berths - other than the first Champions League spot held by AZ - are still up for grabs.
PSV Eindhoven took a step toward European competition Saturday with a 2-0 win over Utrecht. Carlos Salcido and Timmy Simons scored for PSV, which is well off the pace of AZ but even with Heerenveen for the second of two guaranteed Europa berths.
Also Saturday, Tim Janssen and Lasse Schone scored in the final 15 minutes as 10-man NEC rallied for a 2-2 draw against Graafschap, and 10-man Sparta got an own goal in the 86th before Ayodele Adeleye scored in the 90th for a 2-1 win over Den Haag.
