Detroit, MI (My Sportsbook) - Mike Maroth twirled a one-hit shutout to lead Detroit to an 8-0 victory over the New York Yankees at Comerica Park. Maroth (6-7) posted his first career shutout and become the franchise's first hurler to throw a one-hitter since Jeff Weaver against Cleveland on May 22, 2002. The lefthander also tied a career-high with seven strikeouts to put a stop to New York's five-game win streak. Carlos Guillen finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Eric Munson slammed a two-run homer and Ivan Rodriguez knocked in a pair of runs with a fifth-inning double for the Tigers,who posted 11 hits to earn their fourth win in their last five outings.

Arlington, TX (My Sportsbook) - Laynce Nix went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and three runs scored, leading Texas to an 11-2 victory over Toronto in the opener of a three-game series. Bobby Kielty and Marco Scutaro each added two hits and drove in a run as the Athletics have won two straight and three of fourt. Zito (5-7) walked just one and struck out three to record his first victory since June 8. Octavio Dotel fanned both batters he faced with two on in the ninth to notch his fourth save for Oakland. Carlos Lee finished 2-for-3 and scored the only run for the White Sox, who remain in first place in the American League Central despite dropping seven of their last 11 contests.

Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - Victor Martinez notched a career-high five hits -- including three homers for the first time in his career -- and drove in a career-high seven runs, while Casey Blake finished a triple short of the cycle to lead Cleveland to an 18-6 win over Seattle in the second of a four- game series at Safeco Field. Cliff Lee (10-1) won his fifth straight decision for the Indians, who tied a franchise record with eight homers in a game and won for the fourth time in their last 11. Justin Leone homered, doubled and drove in four runs for the Mariners, who lost for the 10th time in their last 11 games. Matt Lawton, Ben Broussard, Travis Hafner and Jody Gerut also homered for Cleveland.

Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - Pedro Martinez fanned eight in six innings to win his sixth straight decision, as the Boston Red Sox got past the Anaheim Angels, 4-2. Martinez (10-3) allowed five hits, four walks and two runs over six frames. The Red Sox are the only team with two pitchers having reached double digits in victories, as Curt Schilling has won 11. Keith Foulke worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 14th save and Nomar Garciaparra homered. Jose Guillen finished with two hits, including a homer and scored twice for the Angels, who had a four-game win streak halted.
