Winston-Salem, NC (My Sportsbook) - Wake Forest sophomore forward James Johnson announced Thursday his intentions to enter the upcoming NBA Draft. Johnson indicated he plans to hire an agent and will forgo to his two remaining years of eligibility. The 6-9 Johnson averaged 15 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while leading the team in blocks with 48 this season. The Demon Deacons finished third in the ACC with a 24-5 overall regular-season mark, including an 11-5 conference ledger that garnered a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Cleveland State, though, came out with the upset victory in a first-round victory over Wake. The 22-year-old is a two-time All-ACC selection, was the runner-up for 2008 ACC Rookie of the Year honors and finished his collegiate career with averages of 14.8 points and 8.3 rebounds. Johnson is the second Wake Forest player to announce his intentions to enter the NBA's June draft following sophomore guard Jeff Teague's declaration on Wednesday. |
