Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Marco Scutaro hit a two-run home run to help the Toronto Blue Jays take a 6-2 win over the Detroit Tigers to wrap up a four-game set.

Adam Lind went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and Aaron Hill added a solo shot for the Blue Jays, who took three of four to open up the season. Ricky Romero (1-0) got the win as he gave up just two runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts in six innings of work in his MLB debut.

"It took me a while to get started," said Romero. "It's a learning process. I feel I can get better in certain parts of my game and we're gonna continue to keep working hard."

Curtis Granderson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run while Magglio Ordonez drove in the other run for the Tigers, who failed to follow up on Wednesday's victory. Rick Porcello (0-1), was saddled with the loss as he was charged with four runs on eight hits in five-plus innings of work in his Major League debut.

"He did a good job out there today," said Detroit manager Jim Leyland about Porcello. "He really showed me some good things out there. Both those kids for both teams did good."

The Tigers got on the board in the third inning. With two outs, Granderson launched a pitch over the left-center wall. Marcus Thames followed with a triple to right that hit off the wall and then the head of Alex Rios. Ordonez then beat out an infield single to plate Thames for a 2-0 lead.

Toronto, though, scored in three consecutive innings to take the lead.

In the fourth, Jose Bautista singled then moved to second on a wild pitch before Michael Barrett later singled to left to plate Barrett to make it a 2-1 game.

The Blue Jays tied the game in the fifth on Hill's line drive home run off the left field foul pole.

Toronto then moved ahead in the sixth. Lind led off the frame by slamming a 1-2 pitch over the wall in dead center. Jose Bautista then singled and Nate Robertson took the mound. Lyle Overbay hit into a fielder's choice and Barrett then struck out, but Travis Snider kept the inning alive with a double to right that plated Overbay. After Juan Rincon took the mound, Scutaro slammed a pitch over the left field wall for a 6-2 lead.

Romero exited the game after the sixth inning and Jesse Carlson, Brandon League and Scott downs combined to give up just two hits over the final three innings to close out the game.
