Winston-Salem, NC (My Sportsbook) - Wake Forest sophomore guard Jeff Teague announced Wednesday that he will submit his name for the upcoming NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent.

The move will enable the 20-year-old to return to school next season if there is not sufficient interest from NBA teams. Underclassmen who declare themselves eligible have until June 15 to withdraw their names and keep their college eligibility. The NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25.

A native of Indianapolis, Teague finished last season tops on the team with 18.8 points per game and 110 total assists as the Demon Deacons went 24-7 and finished tied for second in the ACC with Duke.

"Jeff has proven himself to be one of the top players in the nation," said Wake Forest head coach Dino Gaudio. "This will be a chance for Jeff to be evaluated by the NBA scouts and general managers and to get feedback on his strengths and weaknesses. I am optimistic that Jeff will be back at Wake Forest next year."

In just two years in school, Teague has amassed exactly 1,000 points.
