Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - Florida Marlins first baseman Jorge Cantu left Wednesday's 6-4 victory over the Washington Nationals in the seventh inning with a hand injury. Cantu was struck in the hand while at the plate in the fifth inning. He stayed in the game and scored on Dan Uggla's subsequent double, but was replaced at first by Ross Gload to begin the seventh inning. Cantu had X-rays on his hand that were negative and he is day-to-day. Cantu went 0-for-2 with a run scored and failed to become the first Marlin batter since Derek Lee in 2002 to homer in the club's first three games of the season. The 27-year-old hit .277 in 155 games with Florida last year, belting a career-high 29 homers. He played most of last season at third base, but shifted to first this season to make room for the emerging Emilio Bonifacio.
