(My Sportsbook) - Two of the NBA's also-rans continue playing out the string tonight when the
Minnesota Timberwolves pay a visit to the
Los Angeles Clippers.
The Wolves were drubbed in Minneapolis on Sunday when Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead a balanced attack, as the Denver Nuggets inched closer to a Northwest Division crown with a 110-87 rout of Minnesota.
The Wolves were paced by Shelden Williams, who had 14 points and 12 boards off the bench. Sebastian Telfair poured in 18 points for the Timberwolves, who were coming off an impressive 103-102 victory over Utah on Friday. Rodney Carney finished with 16 points.
Rookie Kevin Love missed the game with the flu and is expected to return for tonight's game.
The Clippers, meanwhile, fell to the Lakers on Sunday when Lamar Odom recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds and Kobe Bryant added 18 points of his own, as the Lakers held on to defeat the Clippers, 88-85, their eighth straight win over their Staples Center co-tenant.
Eric Gordon paced the Clippers with 24 points, while Zach Randolph donated 18 points and 10 boards in the club's fifth straight loss.
Randolph, the team's leading scorer, then ran into some trouble off the court. The veteran forward was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Monday morning.
Randolph, who is averaging 21.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in 38 games for the Clippers since being acquired earlier in the season from the New York Knicks, was released on $5,000 bail but was suspended for two games for conduct detrimental to the team.
Minnesota, which is 11-27 on the road, has won four of its last five meetings with the Clips. LA is a miserable 10-27 at home.
