Calgary, AB (My Sportsbook) - Jarome Iginla registered a goal and an assist, as the Calgary Flames took over sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division with a 4-1 win over Los Angeles at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Daymond Langkow, David Moss and Jim Vandermeer also scored for the Flames, who have won two of their last three games. Calgary holds a two-point edge over the Canucks and travels to Vancouver for a showdown on Tuesday.

Michael Cammalleri recorded two helpers, while Miikka Kiprusoff made 23 saves to earn his 45th win of the season, the fourth highest total in league history. New Jersey's Martin Brodeur owns the record for most victories in a season with 48.

Wayne Simmonds lit the lamp for the Kings, who have dropped seven of nine. Erik Ersberg was victimized for four goals on 38 shots in defeat.

Langkow opened the scoring 2:05 into the second period, poking in a loose puck during a goal-mouth scramble. Simmonds, though, answered with a rocket following a faceoff win just past the midway point of the frame.

Calgary regained the lead when Iginla drifted to left dot and hammered a cross-ice pass from Cammalleri that beat Ersberg on the stick side with 3:22 to go in the middle stanza.

Vandermeer turned on the red light at 3:46 of the third period, then Moss took a feed from Craig Conroy, cut to the middle and beat Ersberg on a forehand- backhand deke with 9:14 remaining.

Kings forward Justin Williams skated in his 500th career game...Ersberg has not won since December 13, going 0-6-3...Calgary swept the four-game season series against Los Angeles and has won 10 of the last 12 meetings overall.
