Detroit, MI (My Sportsbook) - The New York Yankees placed righthander Mike Mussina on the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's 8-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Mussina was scratched from a July 11 start against Tampa Bay with soreness in his right elbow. The 35-year-old was slated to return to the mound Sunday but continued to experience stiffness after a bullpen session on Thursday. "(The elbow's) not as good as I hoped," said Mussina. "I'm disappointed, because I went to bed last night and felt fine. But (Friday) it was stiff again." Mussina is 9-6 with a 5.20 ERA in 18 starts this season and has lost his last two outings. The Yankees recalled lefthander Alex Graman from Triple-A Columbus and will start him Monday when New York begins a series at Tampa Bay. Graman posted an 11.57 ERA over 4 2/3 innings in two appearances with the Yankees earlier this year.
