Arlington, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Toronto Blue Jays activated centerfielder Vernon Wells from the 15-day disabled list before Friday night's 11-2 loss to the Texas Rangers. Wells, who missed 24 games with a right calf strain, went 3-for-3 with an RBI single in the loss. "It's good to be back on the field," said Wells. "It's good to go through a game and not hurt yourself." The 25-year-old Wells is batting .308 with nine homers and just 31 RBI so far this season, well off his career-high pace of 117 RBI in 2003. The Blue Jays also optioned outfielder Howie Clark to Triple-A Syracuse.
