San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres placed offseason acquisition Cliff Floyd on the 15-day disabled list due to a right shoulder injury. To fill the void on their Opening Day roster, the Padres recalled outfielder Drew Macias from Triple-A Portland just before their matchup with the Dodgers. Floyd, 36, batted .268 with 11 home runs and 39 runs batted in over 80 games with the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays in 2008, almost exclusively as a designated hitter. The veteran hit .222 (4-for-18) in the postseason for Tampa Bay, collecting a pair of RBI and three runs scored. A veteran of 16 seasons, Floyd owns a lifetime batting average of .279 with 233 home runs and 865 RBI in his career with the Rays, Marlins, Expos, Red Sox, Mets and Cubs.
