Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Midfielder Barry Ferguson has been stripped of the Rangers captaincy amid reports that he may have played his last game for the club and for Scotland. Ferguson, 31, and goalkeeper Allan McGregor were sent home from training on Friday morning by Gers boss Walter Smith. The club and international captain and teammate McGregor were photographed appearing to make a hand gesture during Scotland's victory over Iceland on Wednesday night. Reports suggest both players will never play for Scotland again. The Gers duo had already been dropped from the starting line-up following a late-night drinking session in the aftermath of Saturday's World Cup qualifying defeat to the Netherlands. Rangers will issue a statement later on Friday and the pair have been summoned to a meeting with chief executive Martin Bain. Smith has already confirmed that neither Ferguson or McGregor will be part of the squad for Sunday's SPL game against Falkirk. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
