San Luis Obipso, CA (My Sportsbook) - Cal Poly has called a news conference for 7 p.m. (et) on Friday, when it's expected the school will name Joe Callero the new men's basketball coach. Callero has been the head coach at Seattle University for the last eight years. The Redhawks finished last season 21-8 overall, its best win percentage in 45 years. Callero has compiled a 117-105 record during his tenure at Seattle. The Mustangs of Cal Poly need a replacement for Kevin Bromley, who was fired after a last-place finish in the Big West Conference with a 7-21 overall mark last season. He was 99-145 in nine years as head coach. |
