East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Keyon Dooling tied a season high with 23 points to help keep the Nets' fleeting playoff hopes alive with a 111-98 victory over the Detroit Pistons at the IZOD Center.

Devin Harris poured in 19 points, doled out 11 assists and tied a season high with four steals for New Jersey, which snapped a five-game slide but still has only three wins over its last 12 tries. Brook Lopez, celebrating his 21st birthday, added 19 points and seven rebounds

Ryan Anderson scored 14 and Vince Carter 12 with seven boards and as many helpers for the Nets, who are 4 1/2 games back of Chicago for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with seven games left.

Richard Hamilton had a game-best 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting for Detroit, which has dropped two in a row and five of seven overall. The Pistons sit in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, three games behind Philadelphia and one-half game ahead of Chicago.

Rodney Stuckey, Tayshaun Prince and Walter Herrmann scored 16 points apiece for the Pistons, who were without the services of forward Rasheed Wallace. Wallace was suspended for one game without pay by the NBA for exceeding the league's technical-foul rule. Wallace picked up his 16th technical foul in the third quarter of Detroit's 79-73 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.

The Nets were up 32-21 after the first quarter and 59-48 at the break.

New Jersey's lead hovered around 10 points until Harris' layup and Dooling's three-pointer gave the home team a 69-54 advantage with about eight minutes left in the third period.

"We have to continue to play at this level," said Harris. "Defensively we're getting our hands on balls, we're pushing the ball...guys are in the right spot, they're helping one another."

Amir Johnson's dunk and four points from Stuckey brought the Pistons within 78-70 with about 2 1/2 minutes left in the frame, but the Nets kept pushing and led, 86-75, heading into the final 12 minutes.

10 consecutive points from Dooling gave the Nets a 101-80 lead midway through the fourth.

"We can't point out anything specific," said Hamilton. "The Nets played well, they made shots, made threes; they kind of exploited us in every way."

Game Notes

The Nets shot 51.3 percent, while the Pistons hit at a 46.8 percent clip...Dooling hit a career-high five three-pointers (5-for-10)...Harris had 14 points and nine assists in the first half...The Nets had dropped three straight at home but moved to 16-22 at the Meadowlands this season...The Pistons are 17-20 away from The Palace in 2008-09...The Pistons had won eight of nine and 13 of the last 17 meetings in the series...New Jersey moved to 2-1 against Detroit this season, with the home team winning each game...Detroit is 12-7 in its last 19 trips to New Jersey.
