Charlotte, NC (My Sportsbook) - Gerald Wallace poured in 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, as the Charlotte Bobcats continued their recent domination over the Los Angeles Lakers with a 94-84 victory to set a franchise record for wins in a season.

Raymond Felton added 16 points and five assists for Charlotte, which has won three in a row and six of eight overall. D.J. Augustin chipped in 14 points, and Emeka Okafor 13 with nine boards as the Bobcats swept the season series, 2-0.

"It's a win. We need it," Felton said. "Every game we are playing now is a must-win. We executed when we were suppose to and it was a big win for us."

Boris Diaw ended with 11 points and 12 helpers for the Bobcats, who moved one game behind the Chicago Bulls for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte, which has never made a postseason appearance in franchise history, has its work cut out for it with games against Boston, Miami, Detroit and Philadelphia coming up.

Kobe Bryant donated 25 points and Lamar Odom 20 for the Lakers, who dropped their second straight contest. Pau Gasol had 16 points and 11 boards in the setback.

The Bobcats have won three straight and six of the past seven meetings with the Lakers.

"I have no idea," said Odom on why the Bobcats seem to have their number. "Our focus is to be better than the league, not just one team. They play hard and they deserved to win tonight."

Up by two midway through the fourth, Diaw offered a layup, Raja Bell knocked down a three and Wallace had a reverse layup to spark an 11-0 Charlotte run. Bell hit a pair of free throws to close it out with 1:08 left to give the Bobcats a 91-80 lead.

The Bobcats held a slight 25-24 lead after the first quarter, but the Lakers moved in front, 44-43, at the intermission.

The score stayed close in the third, before Odom offered a layup and Bryant nailed a three-pointer to make it 60-53 with 4:34 showing on the clock.

Okafor, though, had a three-point play to set the tone for eight consecutive Charlotte points. Augustin closed it out with a pair from the line to give the Bobcats a 61-60 lead with 3:14 left in the third.

The teams traded baskets, and Wallace's finger roll pushed the home team into the final 12 minutes with a 68-64 advantage.

Two Augustin baskets and Felton's layup, against just Luke Walton's layup, gave the Bobcats a 75-66 cushion with just over nine minutes remaining.

Moments later, two buckets each from Bryant and Gasol pulled the Lakers within 80-78.

Game Notes

Charlotte shot 51.5 percent from the field, while LA hit at a 39.2 percent clip...The Lakers fell to 4-2 on a season-long seven-game road trip and are 27-11 away from Hollywood this season. LA will close out the road swing Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center...Charlotte is now 22-17 at Time Warner Cable Arena this season...These two teams came in having split four lifetime meetings at Charlotte.
