(My Sportsbook) - Central Division rivals clash on Tuesday as the red-hot
Cleveland Cavaliers hope to improve on their franchise record 12-game winning streak when they host the playoff-hopeful
Detroit Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Cavs continued their historic season on Sunday when LeBron James led all scorers with 24 points, also dishing out 12 assists and grabbing six rebounds, as Cleveland claimed its 12th straight win after hammering the Dallas Mavericks, 102-74, at the "Q."
Mo Williams had a solid game with 22 points and five helpers, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas chipped in 14 points and nine boards for the Cavaliers, who were coming off an easy 107-85 win over Minnesota on Friday.
Cleveland swept the season series with the Mavericks for the first time in nine years. They are now an impressive 35-1 at home this season, and wins in the final five games as the host will tie an NBA record, matching the 1985-86 Boston Celtics.
Veteran forward Joe Smith had a season-high 13 rebounds to go along with 12 points in the win.
The Cavaliers, who have already clinched the Central Division title, also claimed their first 60-win season in franchise history with the win over Dallas and now have a five-game lead over both Boston and Orlando for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Pistons, meanwhile, are fighting for their playoff lives and came up with a big win over Philadelphia on Sunday after Will Bynum scored nine of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to spark Detroit to a 101-97 victory over the 76ers.
With the win, Detroit pulled within 1 1/2 games of the Sixers for the No. 6 seed in the East and gained a one-game advantage on the eighth-seeded Bulls after Chicago's overtime loss to Toronto earlier Sunday.
Tayshaun Prince led the way with 21 points, while Rodney Stuckey and Richard Hamilton netted 16 and 14 points, respectively, for the Pistons, who have won two straight after dropping six of seven.
Allen Iverson (back) returned to the court after a 16-game absence and scored eight points off the bench against his former team.
"The most important thing is getting the win," Iverson said after the game. "As far as getting back out there, it was different for me. It was rough having to run up and down the court."
Cleveland has taken two of its three games with Detroit this season, including a 99-78 rout at the "Q" on February 22. The Cavs are hoping to win the season series over the Pistons for the first time since 1997-98.
