Garden City, NY (My Sportsbook) - A half-interest in Kentucky Derby contender I Want Revenge has been bought by IEAH Stables, the majority owner of 2008 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown. The 50-percent interest in I Want Revenge was aquired from David. J. Lanzman Racing. "We're thrilled to have such an enormous talent join our stable," said Michael Iavarone, President of IEAH stables. "He appears to be improving at the right time and I'm looking forward to a great working relationship with the pre-existing connections. We're all appreciative of the hard work Nick (bloodstock agent Nick Sallusto) put into making this deal come together." I Want Revenge is coming off a win in the Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct and is the probable favorite for Saturday's Wood Memorial. In his career the colt has won two of seven starts with earnings of $366,000 and is seventh with $324,000 on the most recent graded earnings list for the Kentucky Derby. "I'm thrilled about the partnership," said owner-breeder David Lanzman. "I'm especially ecstatic to be where we're at because this is only the second horse I've ever bred out of my first broodmare." Trained by Jeff Mullins, I Want Revenge raced exclusively on California's synthetic surfaces until the Gotham Stakes. He was third behind Pioneerof the Nile and Papa Clem in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes to begin 2009. The colt will campaign in the silks of IEAH.
