Sacramento Kings shoot for their 21st straight win over the
Memphis Grizzlies at ARCO Arena.
The Memphis franchise's only win in Sacramento was on April 19, 1998 when the then-Vancouver Grizzlies earned a 112-108 overtime victory. Overall, the Grizz are a dismal 1-25 at ARCO Arena.
The woeful Kings, who possess the NBA's worst record at 15-55, dropped the opener of a four-game homestand last Sunday when Andre Iguodala scored a game- high 27 points and brought down a team-high seven rebounds, as the Philadelphia 76ers downed Sacramento, 112-100.
Francisco Garcia had a season-high 24 points to pace the Kings, who couldn't keep the momentum from a win Friday against the Knicks in New York. Sacramento has lost six of seven overall and fell to 10-24 at home.
Spencer Hawes was one assist shy of a triple-double for the Kings, finishing with 17 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Jason Thompson ended with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
Sacramento will finish its residency with games against Phoenix and New Orleans.
The Grizzlies, meanwhile, dropped the opener of a four-game road trip in South Beach on Monday when Dwyane Wade dropped 27 points, breaking his own franchise season scoring mark, as the Miami Heat downed Memphis, 94-82.
O.J. Mayo paced the Grizzlies with 21 points and Mike Conley had 11 with five assists as Memphis lost for the 17th time in 19 tries and slid to 5-29 on the road this season.
Memphis will finish its trip with visits to Portland and Golden State.
The Kings have won two of its three contests with the Grizz this season, including a 100-95 win in Sacramento back in November.
