(My Sportsbook) - The
Dallas Mavericks hope to inch closer to a playoff berth on Wednesday, when they host the
Golden State Warriors at American Airlines Center.
The Mavs, who currently lead Phoenix by three games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 12 to go in the regular season, salvaged a split of a two-game road trip last Friday in Indianapolis, where Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 23 points and buried a game-winning jumper with just 1.1 seconds on the clock to give Dallas a 94-92 win against the Indiana Pacers.
Jason Terry had 17 points and Antoine Wright 13 for the Mavericks, who had dropped three of four coming in.
Jason Kidd had 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the win, while James Singleton checked in with 10 and 11 boards for Dallas.
The Mavs, who have won eight straight at home and are a solid 25-8 in Dallas, finish a two-game homestand against Denver on Friday.
The Warriors, meanwhile, continue to struggle on the road and dropped a tough one in San Antonio on Tuesday to fall to 0-2 on a four-game trek. Roger Mason's pull-up jumper with 23.8 seconds proved to be the difference as the Spurs won their 22nd straight home game versus Golden State with a narrow 107-106 victory.
Monta Ellis led Golden State with 27 points, Stephen Jackson donated 18 and Kelenna Azubuike joined Anthony Randolph in double figures with 13 points.
Golden State has dropped six straight away from home, plummeting to a miserable 6-30 away from home. The Warriors will finish their current trip with a visit to Denver on Saturday.
The two teams have split a pair of meetings this season, with each club holding serve on its home court. The Warriors have lost in 15 of their last 19 trips to Dallas, however.
