Lynchburg, VA (My Sportsbook) - Seeking a higher level of competition, guard Seth Curry, the younger brother of Davidson star Stephen Curry, announced Tuesday his intentions to transfer from Liberty's basketball program. Curry led the nation's freshmen in scoring (20.2). "This is a difficult decision that I have reached after close consultation with my family and others close to me, and it is based on my desire to develop as an athlete to the fullest of my potential and take advantage of new opportunities that may be available to me in a higher rated conference," Curry said in a prepared statement. Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay said that he's disappointed with Curry's decision, but doesn't fault him for wanting to transfer to a higher profile conference. Liberty's (23-12) season came to an end Monday, when they were defeated by James Madison, 88-65, in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. |
