Greensboro, NC (My Sportsbook) - ACC Player of the Year Ty Lawson said in a press conference Tuesday that he plans on suiting up for North Carolina's South Region semifinal against Gonzaga on Friday. A sprained big toe on his right foot caused Lawson to miss three straight games, including the Tar Heels' 101-58 first-round NCAA Tournament victory over Radford last Thursday. The point guard returned on Saturday against LSU, scoring 21 of his 23 points in the second half to go with six assists in UNC's 84-70 comeback win. "It's getting better. Hopefully in a couple of days I'll be back to 100 percent," Lawson said. "I think I'll be able to rest it enough and be ready on Friday." In 31 games this season, Lawson has averaged 16.1 points with 6.5 assists while committing less than two turnovers per game.
