Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - Ashley Walker tied a career high with 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the fourth-seeded California Golden Bears to a 99-73 win over the fifth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers in second-round action of the NCAA Tournament. Devanei Hampton and Alexis Gray-Lawson each added 22 points for the Golden Bears (27-6), while Lauren Grief chipped in with 10 points and a career-high nine assists. Hampton had 11 rebounds as well in the triumph. Virginia (24-10) was paced by Monica Wright, who scored 26 points in a losing effort. Cal took control of the game in the first stanza, racing out to a 53-35 lead at the break. The Golden Bears put the game away in the second stanza with a 13-4 run that crushed any chance of a Cavalier comeback. With the win, Cal advances to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history where it will face off against the winner of the Connecticut/Florida game.
