Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - Flip Murray finished with a season-high 30 points as the Atlanta Hawks crushed the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-97, at Philips Arena.

Mike Bibby finished with 20 points and nine assists, and Joe Johnson ended with 20 points and eight rebounds for Atlanta, which was coming off a loss to Cleveland on Saturday that snapped a seven-game win streak. The Hawks have won eight consecutive home games.

"It was just another game," Murray, who scored 14 points each in the second and fourth quarters, said. "As long as we got the win, I'm really happy with it. I had it going tonight, though. I was able to make some big shots to help my team win tonight. Other than that, I'm just glad we got the win."

Maurice Evans added 10 points in the win, while Al Horford had 12 points and 13 boards.

Randy Foye scored 19 points to pace Minnesota, whose losing streak reached five games. Kevin Love had 17 points and Rodney Carney added 13 points in the loss, Minnesota's seventh in a row on the road.

"We are a little running on empty right now," Minnesota head coach Kevin McHale said. "Especially with the young guys, I think they get fatigued. It's tough, because I think they think it's okay to give in and say, 'Well, I'm tired.' You can't. This is your job. You got to go to work and do it."

Atlanta ended the first quarter with eight consecutive points to take a 23-18 lead, and stretched its advantage shortly into the second quarter. Evans began an 11-point run with a three-pointer, and Johnson ended it within another trey that pushed the Hawks' cushion to 38-21 with a little over eight minutes left.

Back-to-back baskets from Horford and Bibby ended the half to give Atlanta a 58-36 lead at the break, and the Hawks cruised in the third quarter -- leading by as many as 26 points -- to take an 81-64 margin into the fourth.

Minnesota used an eight-point burst near the middle of the final stanza to get back within striking distance. Brian Cardinal and Bobby Brown drilled threes, and Kevin Ollie's free throws got the T-Wolves within 87-77 with six minutes remaining.

But Johnson responded with a three-point play, and Atlanta led by double digits the rest of the way.
