Sacramento, CA (My Sportsbook) - Andre Iguodala scored a game-high 27 points and brought down a team-high seven rebounds, as the
Philadelphia 76ers downed the
Sacramento Kings, 112-100.
Thaddeus Young added 22 points and six rebounds for Philadelphia, which improved to 2-2 on its current five-game road trip. The 76ers opened it with a win over the Lakers, but dropped following contests to Phoenix and Golden State. The trip will end Monday at Portland.
Lou Williams and Marreese Speights contributed 18 and 15 points, respectively, off the bench for the 76ers.
Francisco Garcia had a season-high 24 points to pace the Kings, who couldn't keep the momentum from a win Friday against the Knicks in New York. Sacramento has lost six of seven overall.
Spencer Hawes was one assist shy of a triple-double for the Kings, finishing with 17 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Jason Thompson ended with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
Willie Green's three-point play capped a 10-2 run Philly used to open the game. The Sixers parlayed that into a 35-17 lead after the opening stanza. The visitors then opened a 69-43 advantage at the intermission.
"It's kind of the same thing we struggled with all year: rough starts and putting ourselves in a hole and trying to fight back," said Hawes.
Four points from Kevin Martin and four from Hawes cut the Kings' deficit to 77-57 with about 7 1/2 minutes left in the third.
Sacramento failed to get within 20 points in the third, and headed into the fourth trailing 95-74.
"We knew if we can get them out of their offensive rhythm it can turn into easy baskets for us," said Iguodala. "If we can take away their early offense then we can disrupt them a little bit."
A 9-2 run got the Kings within 103-92 near the midway point of the fourth period, but Young answered with a basket and the Sixers led by double digits the rest of the way.
