South Bend, IN (My Sportsbook) - Danielle Gant tallied 21 points and Tanisha Smith scored a career-high 20, as the second-seeded Texas A&M Aggies upended 15th-seeded Evansville, 80-45 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Takia Starks added 19 points for the Aggies (26-7), who forced a season-high 30 turnovers, which led to 43 points. Evansville (15-19) won four straight to earn a tourney bid, but sloppy ball handling provided Texas A&M with too many extra scoring opportunities. Shannon Novosel led the Purple Aces with 14 points and Ashley Austin scored 10. The Aggies grabbed the momentum with an early 14-0 run. They led at the half, 35-24. Texas A&M put together a key 15-2 run in second half, while the Purple Aces connected on just 7-of-28 field goals over the final 20 minutes. The Aggies committed just 12 turnovers for the game and also shot 16-of-17 from the foul line. They'll face the (7) Notre Dame/(10) Minnesota winner in the second round.
