Natasha Williams posted 22 points and seven boards for DePaul (23-10), while Deirdre Naughton tallied 16 points in the loss. DePaul shot 53.3 percent from the field in the first half, but the Aztecs closed out the stanza with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 36 apiece, as the two teams entered the locker room. San Diego State took control in the second half, shooting 50.0 percent from the floor, while connecting on 15-of-17 shots from the foul line, en route to the six-point win. The Aztecs made 23-of-29 attempts from the foul line in the contest, while DePaul connected on just 9-of-16 shots from the charity stripe. San Diego State will now take on the Stanford Cardinal in second round action.
