Wright's career night leads Warriors past Sixers

Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - Brandan Wright scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds, and six other Warriors scored in double-figures, as Golden State held off the Philadelphia 76ers, 119-111, at ORACLE Arena.

Monta Ellis and Kelenna Azubuike scored 21 and 15 points, respectively, while Stephen Jackson had a solid game with 14 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Warriors, who recovered from a tough 114-106 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. Golden State has won four of its last six overall.

"It's just the fans, they come out and support us every game," Wright said of his motivation to play well. "We love that, I think we have the best fans in the league. We go on the road and see arenas not even close to what's going on here. We love that and respect that, and that's why I want to come out and play hard for these guys."

Anthony Morrow went for 16 points and six boards, and Corey Maggette had 12 points in the win.

Thaddeus Young led Philadelphia with 23 points, and Samuel Dalembert grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds to go along with 15 points. The 76ers have lost two straight after getting their five-game road trip off to a great start with a 94-93 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

"We don't go in and say 'OK, this team -- maybe we can win,'" Sixers head coach Tony DiLeo said. "If we did that, we wouldn't have won against the Lakers because we would have thought we'd lose against the Lakers. We try to approach each game as, 'we're going to win the game,' but they just did a better job of shooting the ball than we did."

Lou Williams and Andre Iguodala registered 20 and 19 points, respectively, in defeat.

With the Warriors leading 91-79 after three quarters, the hosts build their advantage to 18 near the seven-minute mark of the fourth quarter.

Philly, however, was able to chisel its deficit down to 11 at 106-95 after a Marreese Speights slam with 5:51 remaining.

Young and Andre Miller each made a pair from the free-throw line, and the Sixers trailed 115-109 with 1:52 left on the clock. But an Ellis make in the closing seconds put the Warriors back in control, and they would hold on for the 119-111 win.

Philadelphia held a slim 33-31 lead after a fast-paced first quarter, but a Morrow jumper quickly tied things in the early stages of the second.

Both teams continued the up-tempo pace for the next several minutes, and, with the Sixers holding a 47-46 edge with 6 1/2 minutes remaining in the half, the Warriors made their push.

Morrow ignited an 11-3 Golden State run and following a C.J. Watson driving layup, the Warriors had a 57-50 lead with 2:44 left.

Another Watson make in the final seconds of the half put the hosts ahead by a 62-56 margin heading into the break.

In the third quarter, the Warriors held a 67-64 edge before ORACLE Arena experienced a 2 1/2 minute power outage with 8:24 left in stanza.

Play resumed and the home team opened things up a bit. A 10-0 burst started by a Wright layin stretched the Golden State lead to 77-64 just past the midpoint of the period. The Warriors had a 91-79 edge after three.
