New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Connecticut will head to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 team in the country, finishing atop the final Associated Press women's basketball poll. The Huskies (33-0) went wire-to-wire from the preseason to the tournament as the top-ranked team and finished as a unanimous choice for the 16th straight week. Stanford, Maryland, Oklahoma, Baylor, Duke, Louisville, Auburn, Texas A&M and Ohio State completed the top 10. The second 10 consisted of North Carolina, Florida State, California, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, South Dakota State, Iowa State, Tennessee, Arizona State and Xavier. Tennessee had its worst-ever finish at No. 18. The previous worst was 15th in 1986. Kansas State, Florida, Notre Dame, Virginia and Texas were the last five teams ranked. There were no newcomers for the final poll. There will not be a poll after the NCAA Tournament.
