Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - Jaroslav Spacek registered a goal and an assist, as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Florida Panthers, 3-1, at HSBC Arena. Daniel Paille and Thomas Vanek also scored for the Sabres, who have won three of their last five games. Patrick Lalime stopped 30-of-31 shots to earn the win. Michal Repik had the lone tally for the Panthers, who have dropped three of four. Tomas Vokoun allowed three goals on 23 shots in defeat. Spacek put the Sabres on the board 3:04 into the contest, then Repik tied it at the 9:36 mark of the first period before Buffalo regained the lead when Paille beat Vokoun on the short side with 2:55 remaining in the opening frame. Lalime turned away 13 shots in a scoreless middle stanza, while his counterpart was credited with nine saves. Vanek cemented the win with a power-play goal late in the third period with a helper from Derek Roy.
