Hartford, CT (My Sportsbook) - Maya Moore scored 28 points and Tina Charles notched 21 and 15 rebounds as top-ranked Connecticut crushed No. 5 Louisville, 75-36, to clinch the Big East championship in style at XL Center. Moore was 6-of-9 on three-point attempts and 10-of-13 from the floor, collecting five boards and three blocks on her way to earning the tournament's Most Outstanding Player honor, as the Huskies (33-0) shot 58.1 percent from the field in the first half and owned a 50-24 advantage at the break. The Huskies got to the line 34 times and made 22 of their attempts while cleaning up the glass to a 49-30 tune in earning a 15th Big East Tournament title and for a fourth time in the last five years. UConn just completed its fourth undefeated regular season under Geno Auriemma. They also achieved the feat in 1994-95, 1996-97 and 2001-02, winning championships in two of those three seasons. Louisville (29-4) shot just 25.0 percent in the first half and dipped to an atrocious 17.3 percent in the second half, scoring just 12 points over the final 20 minutes. The Cardinals did not have a player reach double-figure scoring as Angel McCoughtry led the way with nine points on 3-of-16 shooting. Monique Reid and Candyce Bingham checked in with six points apiece in the blowout.
