New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Connecticut received all 45 first-place votes once again after completing an unbeaten regular season, remaining the unanimous top team according to the latest Associated Press poll released Monday.
The Huskies (31-0) defeated Rutgers and Villanova to cap off a perfect regular season, the fourth time they have accomplished the feat under Geno Auriemma. They also compiled an undefeated regular season in 1994-95, 1996-97 and 2001-02, winning championships in two of those three seasons.
Stanford, Oklahoma and Maryland occupied spots two, three and four, respectively, for the second straight week, and Louisville, Duke, Baylor, Auburn, Ohio State and Texas A&M rounded out the top 10 teams. Ohio State rose three spots from 12th.
The second 10 consists of North Carolina, California, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, South Dakota State, Iowa State, Tennessee and Xavier. Vanderbilt jumped seven spots from 22nd to 15th.
Florida, Kansas State, Texas, Notre Dame and Virginia round out the top 25. Bowling Green fell out of the rankings, while Kansas State returned after a one-week absence.
