(My Sportsbook) - The lowly
Los Angeles Clippers hope to snap their latest losing streak on Saturday when they welcome the
Indiana Pacers to Staples Center.
The Clippers dropped their fourth straight contest on Wednesday and fell to 0-3 on a five-game homestand after Rudy Gay poured in a season-best 35 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Memphis snapped an eight-game skid with a 118-95 rout over LA.
Al Thornton had 25 points for the Clippers, who are now a dismal 8-24 at home. Baron Davis had 16 points and Mike Taylor notched a career-best 15 points in a reserve role.
The Clippers continued to toil without star forward Zach Randolph (personal) and rookie sensation Eric Gordon (shoulder). Randolph, who returned to Indianapolis earlier in the week to be with his seriously ill father, is doubtful or tonight's contest, while Gordon is listed as questionable. Center Marcus Camby is also questionable for LA with a migraine problem.
The Clippers will finish the homestand with a game against Cleveland.
The Pacers, meanwhile, fell to 1-1 on a three-game road trip after a tough loss in Portland on Wednesday. Brandon Roy scored 28 points, including two crucial free throws with 1.7 seconds left in that one, as the Blazers snapped a nine-game series skid against Indiana with a 107-105 victory.
Marquis Daniels donated 28 points and T.J. Ford 24 for the Pacers, who are 3-3 over their last six games. Jarrett Jack gave 17 points and Roy Hibbert 10 in defeat.
Troy Murphy chipped in 11 points and 13 boards for the Pacers, who last lost to Portland on December 3, 2003.
Off the court, Indiana received some bad news on Friday when it was revealed that forward Mike Dunleavy will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing right knee surgery.
Dunleavy underwent a procedure in Vail, Colorado to remove a bone spur and pair the patellar tendon. No timetable has been set for Dunleavys recovery, although the Pacers did acknowledge he will not return this season.
The sharp-shooting Dunleavy played in just 18 games this year, averaging 15.1 points.
The Clippers have won three of their past four meetings with Indiana, including a 117-109 double overtime win at Conseco Fieldhouse earlier this season.
