Port St. Lucie (My Sportsbook) - New York Mets ace Johan Santana will have his sore left elbow examined Monday in New York. The pitcher was scratched from a start in a "B" game scheduled for this past Friday after feeling discomfort in the elbow following a throwing session. Santana, who threw a bullpen session on Sunday, will see Mets physician Dr. David Altchek in New York. There is no official indication as to what tests he will undergo, though radio station WFAN reported Santana will have an MRI exam. The examinations are, more than anything, for precautionary purposes. Santana is entering his second season with the Mets. The two-time AL Cy Young winner with Minnesota posted a record of 16-7 with a 2.53 earned run average last year with New York.
