Glendale, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Dodgers signed first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz to a minor league contract on Thursday with an invitation to spring training. Los Angeles will be the seventh stop for Mientkiewicz in the past six seasons. After spending five-plus years with Minnesota, the 2001 Gold Glove winner was shipped to Boston for its World Series run in 2004. Since then, the Florida State product has had one-year stints with the New York Mets, Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates, where last year he appeared in 125 games and batted .277 with 30 RBI. In 1,067 career games, Mientkiewicz has recorded a .271 average with 66 home runs, 402 RBI and a .996 field percentage at first, which leads all active first baseman.
