St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - The St. Louis Rams released quarterback Trent Green and wide receiver Drew Bennett on Wednesday. The oft-injured veteran duo combined to play in just four games last season for St. Louis. Green got a start early last season after former head coach Scott Linehan yanked starter Marc Bulger for a winless Rams team in late September. Green finished the season with 525 yards passing, six interceptions and zero touchdowns, appearing in three games. The 38-year-old played in just five games for Miami in 2007 and missed half of his last season in Kansas City during the 2006 campaign with a concussion. Over parts of 15 seasons with St. Louis, Miami, Kansas City, Washington and San Diego, Green has thrown for 28,475 yards and 162 touchdowns with a career completion percentage of 60.6 percent. Bennett broke a bone in his left foot in a Week 1 loss to Philadelphia last season and never saw the field again. Nagging injuries over two seasons in St. Louis limited the eighth-year pro to 34 catches and three scores in 15 games. The 30-year-old has 307 career receptions for 4,412 yards and 28 TD's and spent his first six seasons in the league with Tennessee.
