Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that the club retained six coaches, including offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, and hired seven others. Also being retained by the Chiefs are offensive line coach Bob Bicknell, assistant offensive line coach Joe D'Alessandris, defensive line coach Tim Krumrie, strength and conditioning coach Cedric Smith, and assistant strength coach Brent Salazar. Among the coaches joining the Chiefs is Gary Gibbs, who was New Orleans' defensive coordinator from 2006-08. Clancy Pendergast, the Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator from 2004-08, will also join Kansas City's staff. Pendergast will reunite with head coach Todd Haley, who was the Cardinals' offensive coordinator from 2007-08 until being named the Chiefs' head coach earlier this month. Also joining the Kansas City coaching staff is Joel Collier, most recently a coach with the Patriots from 2005-07; Steve Hoffman, Miami's kicking coach last season; Bill Muir, Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator/offensive line coach for the last seven seasons; Pat Perles, who was a coach at North Dakota State for the last six seasons; and Dedric Ward, a member of Arizona's offensive coaching staff for the past two seasons.
