Sunrise, FL (My Sportsbook) - Nate Campbell garnered a majority decision victory over Ali Funeka at the BankAtlantic Center on Saturday. Campbell, 36, was originally supposed to defend his three lightweight titles against Funeka, but the IBF, WBO and WBA title holder weighed in at 138 pounds on Friday, three pounds over the limit. The weight violation cost him his three belts. Funeka would have claimed the title with a win, but the defeat keeps the title vacant. Funeka was knocked down in round two, but got up and remained in the fight. Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KOs) won on the scorecards of two of the three judges. Benoit Roussel had it at 114-112 and Michael Pernick scored the match 115-111, but Deon Dwarte tallied a draw, 113-113. Funeka (30-2-2) had his 16-bout win streak halted with the loss. WBC interim super welterweight champion Sergio Martinez (44-1-2, 24 KOs) and former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs) battled to a 12-round majority draw. That allowed Martinez to retain his title.
