Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - Marty Turco stopped 32-of-33 shots to lift the
Dallas Stars to a 2-1 win over the
Vancouver Canucks at American Airlines Center.
Loui Eriksson and Joel Lundqvist got the goals for Dallas, which has wins in three of its last four games.
The Stars finished off a four-game homestand 3-1 and has earned victories in six of its last seven on home ice, improving to 16-7-4 at American Airlines Center. Dallas has won eight of the last 10 overall.
Taylor Pyatt had the lone score for Vancouver, which had its four-game win streak come to an end. It was the club's longest winning run since a four-game tear from November 19-24. Jason LaBarbera took the hard-luck loss having turned back 28-of-30 shots.
The Canucks registered the lone goal of the first 20 minutes 5:28 in when Pyatt skated down the right wing and let fly a wrister that snuck under the catching arm of Turco.
Dallas tied the game eight minutes into the second with a power-play tally. Mike Modano won an offensive zone draw back to Matt Niskanen, whose shot from the high slot was redirected by Eriksson for the score.
The Stars then took a 2-1 advantage at 16:27 of the second. Turco sent a long outlet pass up the right boards to Eriksson, who dropped back to Lundqvist for a wrister that found its way past LaBarbera.
LaBarbera did his best to keep the Canucks in the game with several difficult saves in the final period but Turco was up to the task as well with 13 saves in the frame, including a pair of point-blank stops inside the final 1:29 with the extra attacker on for Vancouver.
