Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - New Benfica coach Giovanni Trapattoni has signed Portuguese international goalkeeper Quim to a five-year contract. Trapattoni, the former coach for the Italian national team, was hired as the club's new boss on Sunday. This is his first move since stepping into his new role. Quim, who served as a backup when Portugal finished as the runner-up to Greece at the European Championship earlier this summer, had spent his entire career with the Sporting Club of Braga. "Every season I had read the newspapers saying that I was going to this club or that, and nothing happened," Quim said. I am very happy to be (at Benfica), and for the agreement with Braga." Quim played in 32 games for Braga last season as they finished fifth in the Superliga.
