Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - Josh Howard and Antoine Wright scored 23 points apiece to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 118-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings at American Airlines Center.

Dirk Nowitzki added 21 points for the Mavs, who have won six of their last seven outings. Jason Kidd ended with 15 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. Jose Juan Barea finished with 10 points, while Erick Dampier had nine points and 16 boards.

The Mavs were without star guard Jason Terry, who had successful surgery on his left hand Monday. Terry, the team's second-leading scorer (19.9 points a game), broke his left hand against Chicago over the weekend. Terry is expected to be out three to six weeks.

"We've got a veteran team so when a guy goes down the other guys have to step up and that's not something we have to talk about in the locker room," said Wright. "We've just got to come out and be aggressive on both ends and we did a good job of that tonight."

Dallas continued its dominance over Sacramento at home. The Mavs have won 10 straight over the Kings in north Texas.

Sacramento was paced by Kevin Martin, who ended with 18 points. John Salmons had 16 points and five assists for the Kings, who have lost four straight games. Shelden Williams ended with 15 points, while Bobby Jackson had 12 points. Francisco Garcia and Beno Udrih finished with 11 points each.

Trailing 10-6 early in the first period, Dallas used a 10-2 run to take its first lead in the game. A pair of Howard foul shots capped off the spurt and gave the home team a four-point margin. The Mavs, who led by as many nine in the frame, took a 38-31 advantage into the second stanza.

The Kings scored 10 unanswered points to start the second quarter. Williams hit a pair of shots from the charity stripe to cap the spurt. But Dallas responded in a big way, scoring 12 consecutive points to take a 50-41 lead. Howard's 18-foot jumper topped off the run with around 4 1/2 minutes to play until half.

Sacramento was able to cut the margin to three on 1-of-2 foul shots from Udrih with 2 1/2 minutes to go. But the Mavericks were able to take a 62-57 lead into the locker room.

Dallas took control of the game in the third quarter. The Mavs outscored the Kings, 26-14, in the frame to take an 88-71 lead into the final quarter. Dallas led by as many as 19 in the quarter.

Ahead 92-80 with just over nine minutes to play in the fourth, Dallas scored 12 unanswered points to essentially seal the victory. Wright had six points during the spurt, which was culminated by a pair of Brandon Bass foul shots.

"Well, somehow or another, we have to figure out how to get 48 minutes of play," said Kings coach Kenny Natt. "We had a good first half. The first 24 minutes was really good. We played hard and we played well in the first half, we were just unable to bring that energy in the third quarter. And they came out and really got going on us, and we were only able to score 14 points in that third quarter. It really set us back on our heels and we were trying to make our comeback from there."

Game Notes

The Mavericks shot 55.3 percent from the field, while the Kings hit 44.3 percent of their shots...Dallas had a total of 47 rebounds, compared to just 28 boards for Sacramento...The Kings dropped to 3-25 on the road this season...Dallas has won two of three from Sacramento this year...The Kings (11-42) became the first NBA team guaranteed to have a losing season.
