New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - For the first time in five weeks, there is no change atop the college basketball rankings, as Connecticut remained the No. 1 team in the latest Associated Press men's poll.

The Huskies (22-1) beat Louisville and Michigan last week to strengthen their hold on the top spot. UConn received 67 first-place votes, three more than last week, and a total of 1,795 points from a nationwide media panel.

Oklahoma and North Carolina also held firm at two and three, respectively. The Sooners (23-1) picked up three first-place votes, two fewer than last week, and the Tar Heels (21-2) earned a pair of top tallies, one less than a week ago.

Six of last week's top 10 teams lost at least once.

Pittsburgh was not among them and moved up two spots into fourth. Louisville went 1-1 last week and remained fifth, while Duke slipped two spots into sixth after a 27-point setback at Clemson and a home overtime triumph against Miami- Florida.

Wake Forest held at No. 7 after a 1-1 week, while Memphis vaulted six spots to eighth and Michigan State jumped up four spots to ninth. Marquette, which lost at South Florida last week, fell two spots into 10th.

The second 10 consists of UCLA, Clemson, Villanova, Xavier, Butler, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona State, Gonzaga and Purdue.

UCLA and Villanova each moved up four spots after winning twice last week, while Clemson and Xavier each fell out of the top 10 after losses. Kansas moved up five spots and Missouri entered the poll at No. 17. Missouri was ranked for one week back in late December.

Arizona State jumped six places from 24th, and Purdue plummeted eight spots from 12th after a pair of losses.

Utah State, Illinois, Syracuse, Ohio State and Florida State are the last five teams ranked this week. Ohio State was ranked for four weeks in December and Florida State joined the rankings for the first time since January 1998.

Washington, Texas and Minnesota each dropped out of this week's poll. Texas, which was ranked as high as fifth this season, has lost three in a row.

In addition to Monday's matchup between Kansas and Missouri, the week features numerous contests between ranked foes.

On Tuesday, Marquette visits Villanova in the rugged Big East and Wednesday's featured contest take place at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham with the first of at least two meetings between ACC arch-rivals North Carolina and Duke. Also Wednesday, a Big East battle pits UConn and Syracuse in Storrs.

Thursday includes a Pac-10 showdown between UCLA and Arizona State in Tempe, while Saturday's slate pits Florida State at Wake Forest.
