Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - United States coach Bob Bradley called up 12 European-based players on Sunday for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against rival Mexico.
Captain Carlos Bocanegra, goalkeeper Tim Howard, who is unbeaten in four games against Mexico, and Landon Donovan, the country's all-time leading scorer, are among the players named to the roster.
The United States opens the final round of CONCACAF qualifying on Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio, at 7 p.m. (ET). The United States and Mexico will meet for the 55th time, with the Americans holding an 8-0-2 home record since 2000.
The U.S., along with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago, is competing in the 10-game round-robin format through Oct. 14. The top three teams automatically advance to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
